The Fam
I love my family (I consider Garrett's family my family too). I am so grateful for the family I was born into (in sociology, we call this our family of origin) My Parents are amazing people. I have always had good examples to look up to. For a seventh child that just might be the odds that at least one of the other six will be a good role model. Just kidding. I have lately realized how much I have to be thankful for where it comes to family. I am impressed with the individuals my sisters and sisters-in-law are (brothers too of course). I would like to say I have the best mom on this earth. She is so generous and caring and creative, and she is pretty too. It was so fun to see family these last few weeks (on both sides) I have enjoyed getting to know some of them better, I feel really lucky. Here is my Cardon side's big family picture.

Family picture season
Who doesn't love a good family picture session. It is always worth the results, but not the funnest process. I have decided to give my kids a break and take less pictures. But they are so used to it now, they stop at random places and scoot together and say, "Mom, take a picture." I'm not sure what I have done to them and if it can be fixed, but there are worse problems out there.

Here is the Michael and Shannon Harding family and their posterity. Mike, Shannon, Garrett, Christa, Gracie, Kestlie, Sophie, John, Ally, Zach, and Ella (Boersma), Marissa, Lindsee and Ryan.

Our little brood.

These are some well loved grandparents. The kids are always happy to see them.

Here are Garrett and his beautiful sisters. I am glad my kids got some of their genes too.

JMW 5k
For part of Garrett's family reunion, he helped plan a 5k or mile fun run for the whole family. It is called the Joel M Walker memorial fun run, we ran through some of the places in the neighborhood that Garrett's grandpa Joel used to walk. The girls and their cousin Zach formed team super small with Garrett. They did the mile and had a blast.

With the Fam at the Jordanelle
Part of Garrett's family reunion was a boat day at the Jordanelle Lake. It was super fun. The girls got to ride on Jet skis with Marissa, Lindsee, and Grandpa Mike. As far as Kestlie is concerned, Grandpa Mike hung the moon. "Gracie," she said with awe in her voice, "did you know Grandpa can ride on top of waves." We had lunch and played all day and ate dinner there. It was very well planned and so fun. Garrett's uncle Nick took us on his boat and he let the girls steer. It was all they could talk about for days. They still say, "I got to drive the boat", all the time.

Sophie looks like she will be a good driver with her hand over hand turning technique.

Cousins at the Dino-Park
This has been a fun and busy month. We have been lucky to go to a lot of super fun places with cousins. Kerolann, Lorina, and I loaded up our kids (10 in all) and went to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. There are a lot of fun things to do and see there.

There is a museum inside with fossils and bones, and the kids very favorite...the ones that move. There are some robotic ones that are motion sensor activated. I kept putting my arm through the wire fence to set them off. This upset Gracie who thought I was bothering the Dinosaurs, she kept dragging me away, telling me to stop. Then she realized they were robots and we had a good laugh.

Outside, there are trails that take you to different dinos and other prehistoric fun. There was a cave, and pond where you could feed ducks, the kids went to a movie about paleontology, and there was a very fun playground.

They got to brush off some dino-bones in the sand. There were some dinos in the lake, one apparently scared the kids so much they screamed and ran away. It was a good day.

Computer trouble
So, I have been trying to post new things and put up a slide show, but it is not working. I am frustrated. I keep looking at other blogs and wishing I could post, but I can't see the word to retype. I also can't see pictures that are posted, this happened once before, but went away a few days later. This laptop I have is pretty old. I wonder if I need to get a new computer. I want to, but do I need to is the question. It seems like when it rains it pours. Like a year ago it seems like all our appliances suddenly decided they would like to be replaced; the vaccum, the dishwasher, I can't remember what else. Now it is the jeep and the computer. I really am thankful for what I have. I need to remember that. I got my haircut about a month ago, it was a really bad cut, I affectionatly refer to it as my mullet. I went and got it fixed, I love the cut, and I love the color too, but it is a little bright. But through it all, I just keep telling myself, I am thankful I have hair, not everybody does. I will keep trying, who knows when it will work.
