For those of you who missed it...

My ever-loving husband decided that at least one time in his life he should have a beard. I have to say that I am not sad it is gone, but at least I insisted on taking a picture, so if he ever wants to again, I can remind him that there is no need, been there, done that.

deco update

So my good friend Kim responded and I thought I would show this small update. BTW, the pictures above our bed are some that G took when he was in France for the Tour. They are taken on a mountain, above the cloud line, so the clouds look like an ocean, very cool. I had them blown up and framed them as a surprise for him.

The next step is painting the cupboards. Does anyone know a good kind of paint to use, or is wall paint OK? We have some extra taupe paint that looks off white like we want our cupboards to be, but I am afraid it might look purple compared to the yellow tile we will be putting behind the stove. So many decisions, so little confidence.

Decorating

we have been working on decorating our room, and are now doing the kitchen. It is so much more time and money involved than I thought. I have recently decided to love my house. I know that I have lived here for six and a half years, so this decision may seem odd at this stage. The truth is I was sooo sick when we moved here, I was pregnant with K, that I didn't pay much attention to what we bought. I just wanted G to make a decision so I wouldn't have to drive all the way up again to look for houses. So now that I have all my kids and I know we wont be moving for a few years, and also that we will be moving in a few years, we want to make it a nice place to live and then sell. I wish I knew more about design. I never know if it looks good or if I should keep going or stop. Here are some pictures of the bedroom. and one of the kitchen that we just started. I would love comments, advice, or websites you like

Olden days vs. New-en days

On our way home from the gym this morning, Kestlie saw that we had pulled up next to a truck pulling a horse trailor. She said in the olden days there were no cars, so people used horses to pull them places. Then she said that in "New-en" days the cars have to pull the horses. She is so smart! She cracks me up.

The hunt

That Easter Bunny, he’s a tricky one. While the girls were hunting for eggs outside with Daddy, and Mommy was taking pictures of it, the Easter Bunny got into our house and left goodies in the basket for the girls. Sophie said he must have snuck under the Jeep and into the house; Gracie blames me for leaving the door open. He was so fast, he didn’t even notice Kestlie’s note asking what his name is. (The girls have left notes for the tooth fairies; so far the fairies that have visited the underside of Kestlie’s pillow are Ophelia and Georgette.) So the Easter bunny didn’t leave his name, but we are still trying to figure out if bunnies even know how to read.

The girls were really surprised.

egg-tastic

The girls got to dye easter eggs at Grammie's this year. My mom is so artistic, she did some really great drawings on some eggs. Also, my niece Kami dyed along with us. She made some cool colors and designs too.

Girls Night

While the men-folk were away, the girls got together and ate delicious crepes at my sister's house. It was so great to see everyone and to watch barbie movies, play charades, and paint toe-nails. We really need to do this more often.

Crafty cuties

The girls got to go to Grandma Shannons for a night and man, did they have fun. They got to "bead". They made bracelets of every season and occasion imaginable. They love to craft with Grandma. Garrett's aunt also sent some fuse beads to us. They are so much fun, how have I never heard of these? They provide hours of entertainment, perfect for spring break!

Surprise!

So, my dad had a, let's just say BIG, birthday a few weeks ago. He looks amazingly young for his age, he looks great, in fact. We siblings got together to make a grand birthday celebration for the occasion. All of us were able to get together for dinner and presented him with a book that we had written about him. All of us and our spouses made it, including my brother from Washington and my sister in Texas. It was great. We love you DAD!
