the happs...

In Hawaii, there's a phrase: What's the happs? like what's happening, well life is never boring, with these girls, here is a typical after school snack/homework session. This is a frozen gogurt, sophie didn't want her hands to get cold so she is wearing gloves. Also, I love Kestlie in the background, she is RELISHING that pickle.

I guess it had to happen eventually...

Well, I guess one of my kids had to eventually cut their own hair. I should have known it would be Sophie. I just thought she was past the age and I had escaped this particular escapade. But no such luck. I thought the punishment of looking funny for a while would fit her crime, but today when she came in my room, she said "look at my cute bangs." I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

My toothless wonder...

Kestlie has been losing lots of teeth lately. She lost one of her top front teeth about a week ago and then Sunday, she was just wiggling her other front tooth and working on it, we knew it was time for it to come out. One of her bottom teeth has been hanging on by a thread for weeks as well. There's this thing about Kestlie, she is sweet and shy and mild mannered, unless she is in pain or thinks something might cause pain to her. She then becomes completely irrational and out of control. Screaming, crying, fetal position, whatever she can to defend herself. We knew from experience that it would be prudent to get both teeth out at once, since she would already be in that state, we could cut the drama in half. Well to make a long story short, too late, Garrett pulled out the first tooth, then came the hysteria, then we suddenly remembered the tooth fairy had a clause for occasions just like this: "If one shall lose two teeth on the same night, place both teeth beneath one's pillow on said night, one shall reap double the rewards for said tooth." So Kestlie got four dollars, the tooth fairy thinks it's worth every penny.

Christmas Cousins

Every Christmas we go to Garrett's Grandma Walker's house for breakfast. We exchange gifts and chat with family. Good times.

Mom, can you make my hair bigger?

Lately the girls want me to do their hair with a little height in the back. They love the bumpit commercials and want one. For Sophie's Christmas program I tried my best to put her hair up higher, she liked it this way.
